4G Mobile Phones 2010
4g
Introduction – what is 4g?
4g is the fourth generation of mobile technology. The technology is at the moment under development by different companies and operators and it is supposed to be announced somewhere around the year 2010. All the details about the upcoming generations are not available and there are different kinds of debates going on about the different standardizations and other undecided questions.
At the moment at least in Europe the most used mobile technology is
still 2g that is based on GSM. There is also a large part that are
using the so called 2,5g that also works in the GSM network, but uses
different kind of broadcasting system that enables a faster data
casting in the same network. In Europe the 3g has not been as a big
success as it was maybe expected and people are expected to be waiting
for the 4g as it is supposed to bring more features to the mobile than
the previous generations.
4g features:Â The 4g network is supposed to be able
to support mobile transmission of 100 Mbps and fixed rates of 1 Gbps as
4g is supposed to be based on IP – Internet Protocol. That means that
the services that 4g could reach that are not possible with current
technologies are mobile high-definition TV and games, as well as live
teleconferencing.
